OUR MUSIC
In 2020, we released our very first EP of 4 original songs!
“Lost at Sea” was inspired by, written during the time we performed on cruise ships. Ironically, we released it when the cruise industry was shut down in 2020 😂.
🎨 A little about the cover art & album title:
We made the EP artwork together 🤗: between watercolour paints, dollar store glass bottles, diy lighting, and a pile of glass stones, we photographed the beachy album cover scene to reflect the feeling we, as musicians, often have about releasing original music: that our song are like a tiny bottle in an ocean of digital media, just waiting to be heard by someone who may enjoy the message inside. Being full-time musicians also comes with a lot of uncertainty, and ‘Lost at Sea’ is a tribute to that lost feeling so common among artists, that we are unsure of our skills, doubt our potential, constantly searching for answers, and looking to find ourselves through the things we create.
Each song touches on a major theme/topic:
‘A Beautiful Day’ is a song about happiness, appreciating the beauty in a day, and practicing simple gratitude for the life you have in order to let go of hard times.
‘Train of Tought’ is a love song with a driving train-like rhythm, about how lovely it is when your thoughts drift away to that special someone.
‘Struggle’ was truly a struggle to write, and ended up being a song about just that; it speaks to artists battling with themselves mentally or in a rut. This mental health anthem is a cry to our own worst enemies and critics (ourselves) to stop self-doubt and fear in its tracks and letting yourself be creative.
‘I Wonder (Who Am I)’ unsurprisingly is a song about self-discovery, looking within, and seeing ourselves through the eyes of other people, it was the very first song we ever wrote together.
